It was so nice to be able to go to Chicago for this intimate Friday wedding. My family is in Chicago, so I jump at any chance I get to go visit. My sister works with Alissa and that’s how we connected. I hadn’t been to this location since I visited as a kid, so it was kind of a blast from the past! The location is called Cantigny. They didn’t fly me all the way from San Francisco to not take a ton of pictures, so we had one whole glorious hour for our photo session!

I photographed Kevin’s sister’s wedding a couple of years go and was so pleased I was available to photograph Maureen and Kevin’s wedding at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and see the family again!
Someday I’m going to do a photo essay on butter. I love photographing the butter.

Sometimes the simplest things inspire me and make me happy. I was inspired at last Saturday’s wedding by some of the simple, but lovely flower arrangements. When I was shopping at Trader Joe’s on Monday I saw some of the flowers used in the arrangements, so for $10.00 I brought them home and did my own arrangement. It’s five days later and they aren’t as fresh, but still pretty gorgeous to look at. Then I was making my breakfast and was inspired by how pretty the brown eggs and finished product looked. Yum! See the beauty in all that surrounds us!

So happy to have had the opportunity to photograph Bridget and Jim’s newest addition to their family! I’ve had a couple of previous posts explaining that Bridget and Jim live in the Chicago area and I photographed their wedding in Chicago several years ago. Since my family is in Chicago, I let them know when I’ll be in town and we schedule a portrait session. First it was Francie, then came Winnie and now Burke!

You know, it’s funny. Sometimes I don’t even know when I’ve been featured on a blog or in a book! I was chatting with a friend on the phone and she told me she did a google search on my name and there were five pages of results! Out of curiosity, I did the same thing. I never knew I had been published on Snippet & Ink! Just a little photo of some paper crane placecards, but fun, never-the-less! Check it out on Snippet & Ink. I LOVE SF City Hall weddings. What an incredible location. Had great fun photographing Hannah and William’s wedding last Thursday. They needed photos for a party for family this weekend, so I ended up just doing their entire edit. They wanted some urban grit AND the GG Bridge for our after city hall session.
